December 16th @ 7pm. Light Up Your Wheels & Come Roll with Us through the Streets of Sunset Beach. Arrive on you Bike, skateboard, scooter, unicycle, one wheel or ANYTHING that rolls. We’ll ride up & down the streets of Sunset and end up at Caddy’s for a beverage! LIGHT IT UP!
Christmas Eve Luminaries has been a cherished Sunset Beach Tradition for decades. As the sun goes down on Christmas Eve, the streets come to life with a magnificent luminary display. During the day on Christmas Eve volunteers place 2400 luminaries along the streets of Sunset Beach. This is a VOLUNTEER effort. The SBCA provides the supplies, volunteers line the streets with luminaries. If you would like to volunteer and participate in our beloved tradition please contact us for a street assignment. Save the Date for one of our Favorite annual events on Sunset Beach. The Sunset Beach Santa Stroll is a Festive neighborhood Holiday Party on the Go. Local Stroll Revelers meet up at the Sunset Beach Pavilion (8000 West Gulf Blvd) dressed in their most Festive Holiday Attire. Santa leads the way as we Stroll together through the neighborhood and enjoy music, libations & treats from our neighbors and sponsors. Rumor has it that it may SNOW this year! At the Start we will sell Sunset Beach Stroll 2022 T-shirts. We will also have beer & wine available for a donation. The party will end with Music by Sunset Beach neighbor Steve Miller & The Beach Rats. If you would like to Host or Sponsor a Merriment Stop please email [email protected] or call 727-687-2522.
On Friday October 21st from 6:00-8:30 pm Featuring music by our Sunset Beach local music legend Charlie Morris and the St. Pete Mountain Boys We will serve Snacks, Beer & Wine for Donations. Bring a beach chair or a beach blanket to the Sunset Beach Park, Pavilion & Playground and share a special Sunset with us. Fun for the whole family includes a Kids Meet Up on the Playground! Music Starts at 6pm. The Sunset Beach Community Association will be Selling SBCA Memberships. Time to renew your memberships so we can continue to host our fun neighborhood events. Thank you for all of the Hurricane Ian Donations. A few of our Board Members drove them down to Ft. Myers and they were immediately distributed to those in need through the Cajun Navy. The Cajun Navy had over 1,000 volunteers serve over 12,000 vehicles in 11 days. They gave over 8.6 million worth of in kind donations from private citizens and businesses (including You). The Cajun Navy now moves on to the next phase of assistance through their Community Caretaking Program to help to stabilize families along with other nonprofits. Our neighbors to the South are in desperate need of local support. We are collecting non-perishable Canned/Boxed Food and Personal Hygiene items to give Directly to those most affected by Hurricane Ian. We will be delivering items to Cajun Navy SAFE CAMP South in Ft. Meyers on Monday, October 10th. Please bring donations to 8101 Bayshore Dr. by Sunday, October 9th. This will be an ongoing effort donations will be put directly in the hands of those in need.
